K-9 Unit

The Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Program is made up of a single canine.

K-9 Akela, and his handler Deputy Tanner Hall began working together in the fall of 2023. Akela is a German Shepard and is a dual purpose K-9, performing both narcotics detection and patrol functions.

K-9 Bolt retired the spring of 2024 after 7 years of service to the Nodaway County Sheriff's Office. Bolt was partnered with Cpt. Austin Hann.
